Screened at the 22nd Annual African American Women in Cinema Film Festival (2021) and selected for screening at the Women of African Descent Film Festival (June 2022), The Colour of Beautiful Media & Entertainment Group presents Who Told You Your Black Is Not Beautiful? This short film is a glimpse into colorism and the stories that shape our experiences as deeply melanated and light-skinned black women. Through poetry and storytelling, our voices and our stories are told about beauty and color.

We cannot ignore the impact of discrimination against people of color who have darker skin tones. To ignore colorism is to ignore the hurt and pain of those who deserve to be treated with respect and valued for their contribution to the world. We have all been given an assignment to impact the world, and having done so, we leave here empty.
